Magical Golden Hour Engagement Session | Idaho Engagement Photographer
After hearing James and Lance’s story, there is no doubt that they were destined to meet and fall in love! I had an amazing time documenting their epic love with a fun engagement session in Swan Valley, Idaho. James and Lance met on Tinder in October of 2021, and have been together since December 5th, 2021! When they matched, James was living in Idaho and going to school while Lance was living in Utah. The funny thing is, Lance had a rule to not match with people in different states, but as you can see, fate had other plans! They matched, and had their first date at Starbucks on Halloween! The rest is history!
The Most Romantic Proposal
“I was super nervous leading up to it, I had the ring in my pocket all day and I was doing my best to keep it a surprise. We were in a new city on vacation so I really had no idea what a good spot would be. We had gone to a Billy Joel concert and after that, I took James to a park nearby and proposed. It was perfect, there was a cute little water fountain behind us. The drive home afterwards felt like a dream” – Lance
“We spent the day walking around downtown Houston, going to the zoo, and then we ended the day going to a Billy Joel concert! He’s one of my top favorite artists so it was a dream come true! Little did I know, Lance had something planned up his sleeve. He kept saying “let’s walk to this park after the concert” and my bestie Emma was trying to convince me to do the same. I agreed, very confused, and went along with it. Then Lance started getting super duper sappy, Emma was videoing us from off to the side, and he got down on one knee and proposed. I had no idea that I could love a person this much. Obv I said yes, and he’s the only one I want to spend my life with.” – James
Ok, who else is crying? During this fun engagement session, a rainbow appeared just in time and we were able to capture some beautiful, lifelong memories. James and Lance truly make me believe there is someone out there for everyone and to never give up on love. Who knows? Your true love may be a couple states away!
Life and Date Nights
This beautiful couple bought a house earlier this year, AND they’re also getting married this year… life is pretty good! They both want to have long term jobs in 5 years that they enjoy + travel internationally all over the world! International couples photoshoot anyone?
Then, I asked James and Lance what their favorite date night would look like and what their love language is, their answers were a perfect match! Lance loves to spend quality time with James, so he loves going out to dinner and then going to see a movie! James also loves to spend quality time with Lance by going to dinner, and then walking around town window shopping, then heading home to snuggle up and watch their favorite T.V. show together! Seriously, two peas in a pod!
Their Love for Music and Hobbies
Lance and James enjoy listening to various genres of music together. Some of the artists we listened to throughout their fun engagement session included Hunter Hayes, Lady Gaga, Brett Young, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé! Talk about range!
They enjoy traveling, hiking, home projects, going to concerts and events together! After all, both of their love languages are quality time!
Their Favorite Memory Together
“Our favorite memory together would probably be the first road trip we took to Vegas together. We got to learn the ins and outs of each other, figure out what buttons we could and couldn’t push, and just overall we grew so much as a couple together that trip.” – Lance and James
